If you like Chobits, you will adore Fruits Basket. It's such a good anime and even greater manga (moreso due to the fact that the manga is still running.). I'm going to try not to give you a bunch of shojo titles but I like manga that emphasize on the characters moreso than action.
2) Pretear (from the creator of Sailor Moon; it resembles the style of Sailor Moon and is adapted from Snow White)
3) Imadoki (deals with highschool, from the creator of Fushigi Yuugi)
4) Rurouni Kenshin (funny and action packed)
5) BLEACH (a lot of action and has alot of interesting panels)
6) Elfen Lied (A bit of gore but very dramatic/sad)
7) Ranma 1/2 is really funny
