It's not just that autism is growing, it's that diagnosis is now easier. People on the autistic spectrum have, in the past, been labelled as a number of other things such as stupid or lazy. Of course there will always be people that say that they are autistic as an excuse but really we are just getting better at finding these people, now we just need to get better at treating them.
