Get a glass beaker put in some WATER and add some Hydrochloric acid, put in two strips of lead and a paper separator between them. You now have a basic battery that will produce electricity. Make 10 similar cells wire them together in series and you will have a 12v battery, you can charge with a car battery charger.
If you mean producing electricity by hydroelectric power or cold fusion i cant help you, it would pay to be more specific when asking questions.

Get a small, cheap DC motor and add some axial or radial vanes on the shaft. Connect a low range DC volt meter to the motor's leads (watch polarity), and hold the vanes under a fast running water tap. You got yourself a hydro-electric "power station".
