Ouch - I wasn't prepared to wait.

It premiered yesterday morning in my house. There are loads of torrents of the first 2 episodes available. Real fans don't wait, they torrent.

Approx 350mb per episode - it wont take you long. Interested ? Heres how to get started.

Firstly download and install one of the 'Torrent' programs. There are plenty to choose from but I use utorrent. Get it here or choose your own.

http://www.utorrent.com/download.php

Once installed you may need to set it up on your firewall to forward the data to the correct port, but it talks you through all that.

After that is working you need to locate the torrent files. These direct the program to where the video files are. You can use the search facility within utorrent ( I find mininova option in the search dropdown the best for BSG), or once you get used to it you can narrow down the searches further within the mininova site.

Most torrents are available within 24 hours of the show broadcast in the USA. (Thanks to all the guys capturing it over there and making it available) You can therefore check out the 'today' and 'yesterday' section

http://www.mininova.org/today

for a complete list of whats available. Alternately select the TV shows section and go to the Battlestar Galactica section, all the episodes that are available.

http://www.mininova.org/sub/163

The listings use shorthand so look for something like S03E01.

The two episodes that are already available are:

http://www.mininova.org/tor/445692
http://www.mininova.org/tor/445693

click on these links and then click on the download title, i.e.

'Battlestar.Galactica.S03E01.WS.DSR.XviD-OMiCRON.[eztv].torrent'

to download the torrent and launch the utorrent program.

These are xvid format .avi files so you may need to download an xvid player.

Please bear in mind this is peer to peer software so keep an eye on your usage so not to upset your ISP, and make sure your firewall and antivirus are uptodate. (Just in case)
