It will be implemented incrementally this year. People with surnames beginning A-J should already have put their clocks forward. This weekend, K-R should get up earlier and the rest, ie S-Z will catch up on the 29th October. This is because of the increased population. The Government is trying to cut down on the rush-hour flood which happens every year.

I know where you are coming from with this question because I heard that we weren't altering the clocks this year...supposedly to bring us more in line with the rest of Europe..I haven't read anywhere that we are altering clocks this year yet.

We're actually going to be trying European time for a year then have a ballot as to whether we should revert to GMT/BST.
However I think it is going to start next year.
Don't want to do that tho - will mean we'll lose GMT for good if we stick to it. which is daft since the world's time is meant to go from ours.
One more nail to the British coffin :o(

yes we always do, the british summertime ends on sunday the 29th oct. so we put our clocks back then.
