As Muslims are so proud of their Islamic Laws and traditions should all Islamic punishments (I am only talking muslim against muslim here) be allowed to be dealt with as it has been for 100's of years in their native lands - public stonings, removing limbs from theives, etc.

Should the UK Government make their lives a living hell, so that they seek asylum outside of the UK, you know, to make them really feel like they are at home???

the simple answer is no. It would simply create a two-tier system, with a them-and-us culture in terms of law. There are serious problems in integration in this country at the present moment- women in many Muslim areas are still underpriveliged in terms or speaking English (some are not allowed to learn), education and job prospects. The Muslim population at the moment is also increasingly alienated in that many refuse to send their children to state schools, and Muslim areas are increasingly the main hotspots for racial attacks and preaching hatred of the West.
The system is also open to abuse. Sharia law states women are lower than men for status, and so they are often treated harsher than a male. Their law also states no interest can be earned on money, and you know that paper money is incredibly difficult to trace, tax and also leads to the possibilty of criminal activity.
I must also pose the question- why should people who have moved from another country still recieve those laws. If I were to move to France, I would be treated under French law. If I went to the US, I would be treated under US law. Why leave a country if you want its rule and laws. Similarly, many other religions in the UK don't demand the same Indian/Nepalese/Israeli laws, so why should preference be given to Muslims?
There is also the human rights problem- such punishments are medieval and also in the eyes of many Westerners, barbaric. There is already massive uproar on the treatment of any prisoner in Islamic Sharia countries- many prisoners are linving in horrific conditions, some suffer for hours if being hanged, many are malnourished and in need of medical attention. To encourage such behaviour would be hypocrisy on our part and also giving in to extreme views. In the town I live in, there are Muslims- who live under OUR law quite happily.
A better idea would be to reinforce British values- equality of the sexes, hard work, a respect for the Christian faith and other religions, family values, self-respect and obiedience to authorities, including in education, the police and the government.

If Muslims wanted Islamic Law, they would go vote for Islamic parties. Go look at election results for Bradford, Birmingham and the like and you'll see the groundswell of non-support for such parties, matched only by the failure of Christians, supposedly also proud of their traditions, to vote for the equally lunatic bigots Christian Voice.

Perhaps you should also consider the fact that many Muslims actually OPPOSE these regimes themselves? Perhaps you saw the petition against the Taliban that was going around in 2000. I did, and this was through a Muslim who was passing it around. Similarly, many Muslims would like to see true democracy in the Middle East, but of course, the current regimes sell oil to the West nice and cheap, so guess who's keeping them in place. Hint: it isn't the other Muslim countries.

Perhaps if you actually, say, read the figures from the Census instead of Daily Mail scaremongering, you'd realise that the few percent total that ALL minority religions make up the population is not enough to suddenly turn us into a medieval state.

The fact that these laws are still enforced in some mohommedan countries implies that they think it's reasonable.

If that's the case, the civilised countries should refuse to have ANY contact with them - no trade, no so-called humanitarian aid, NOTHING. All immigrants who support the system shold be sent back to live in a country that supports such obscene behaviour. They'll soon become extinct due to their internecine wars, stonings, beheadings etc. and we'll all be happy again.

After all, look at the probable long term survival rate in some of their countries now - Darfur, mohommedans V. everybody, Palestine: Hamas V. Fatah, Afghanistan: shia V. sunni, Iran: Mahmoud Aminoacid (or whatever) V. the World, Indonesia: mohommedans V. everybody else.

Live and let live is an alien concetpt to these people. Their philosophy seems to be live and let live so long as your superstition agrees with mine.

In any case, if they allow stonings in the UK, I'll have to buy my wife a beard and stop eating fish!

definitely not the only answer to this, is this is BRITAIN our laws and our western ideology are paramount just think why these people choose to live here they like most of our way of life they are still learning about our religion as indeed we are learning about their way of life and their religion i know there is a lot of trouble at the moment between the cultures but they and we are learning I'm sure only good can come out of this in the end whenever that will be. i am not a religious person the establishment is there to use births death marriages etc yes even prayer if that is what you want.one code of practise i live by is, "live and let live". our religion for instance is based almost on here say the bible is our guidance through life, one part of which with reference to this question, let he without conviction cast the first stone, don't take me wrong, the bible is a good book there are some lovely stories in it but belief and decifering or understanding it is up to the individual. another book i learned from as a youngster was a nursery rhime book, for instance the rhime tom tom the pipers on, ( a moral on stealng)

No, stonings should not be allowed by any government. Many religions and/or traditions feature aspects no longer allowed by most governments e.g. "an eye for an eye." Persons who break the law, even if they do so in accordance with a religious tradition, should be prosecuted. But of course the UK shouldn't harass or persecute Muslims! No one should be persecuted on the basis of their religious beliefs.

I had an uncle in the Scots Guards who fought alongside the Gurkha's in the process the Malayan Emergency. Gurkha's stored his existence on extra desirable than one occasion. He believed there replaced into not a extra valuable or braver combating unit to be discovered everywhere. The Gurkha's have served the british government and the british human beings using fact the days of the "large" british empire. they have achieved so with large honour and private sacrifice. They get a similar scientific care as every person else who serves britain does such using fact the army, army and air tension. in case you at the instant are not any extra of use to the business enterprise, they circulate away you caught in the muck they placed you in in the 1st place. they think of they are previous ethical regulation and decency. do only not see the way it ought to probably be conscious to them. They see all human beings outdoors the business enterprise circle as "the complication-unfastened a lot", some style of sub-species there for use as long as that use lasts. The Gurkha's at the instant are not any extra of use, so must be removed from sight. And it is not important one hoot what occasion is in government, all of them think of a similar of the complication-unfastened a lot. i'm so disgusted by making use of the british mentality that i don't even see that a Scottish government may be any diverse. Our laws and punishments apply to anyone in England, regardless of age, sex, religion etc.

The fact we're conisdered an ASYLUM - meaning safe haven - should be a good thing, turning our country into somewhere people are scared to live is a ridiculous idea. Most asylum seekers are escaping from horrors you could never even comprehend. We're lucky to have a (fairly) fair punishment system, without capital punishment.

Stop being a jerk and let people live in peace.

All forms of capital punishment and race or religious persecutions are crimes against humanity and should be punished in the same way as the war criminals were at the Nuremberg trials.
No more Nazis, Communists or Fascist's.
