If so, why could they do in in the 60s but not now? Why aren't people going there all the time and showing us great clear colour images of it? I just don't think it was possible back then, I have no doubts that they could do it now if it is possible to go that far and survive in such an atmosphere.

Um, I just went to google moon and saw nothing but a few fake locations, so fake that you can't zoom in all the way.

Please, I know who the first man that supposedly landed on the moon was. No need to give me names, like that will prove anything. And why is there no purpose in going again? Is it because they have since knocked down the studio that it was originally filmed in or something?

Firefoxy, get this straight and don't be foolish about it any more, okay? The basic technology required for a manned flight to the moon was developed in Germany in the late 1930s through the mid 1940s. This technology needed a lot of refinement to make a safe manned flight a reality.

We worked on that technology through the 1950s and 60s, and made the first moon flight in 1969. It all fits together, and if you read all the history and don't let the wackos lie to you, it will be impossible for you to continue to be fooled into believing that the moon missions did not take place.

The American people were much better educated and more intelligent in the 1960s and 70s than they are now, and it would never have occurred to NASA engineers and managers that 35 years later a bunch of ignorant dolts with nothing to do would come up with a stupid conspiracy theory stating that the moon landings were faked.

If that had occurred to the engineers, I suspect they would have gone to the trouble to create a larger and more visible object of proof, to compensate for the decline in the quality of the American mind and its education that occurred during and after the Reagan presidency.

But there is a real physical proof available. The astronauts who landed on the moon left behind reflectors that are used every day by astronomers to measure the irregularities of the moon's orbit. This is done by bouncing laser beams off reflectors at known locations that were left by the astronauts. Ask your science teacher for information about these experiments. You can arrange to see this done with your own eyes.

Let me put the question to you this way: If you think the moon landings were faked, when did they become "fake?" When did the idea become popular that NASA had invented the idea of an imaginary moon mission and created a huge technological empire to fool people? When was all this fakery done? In the 60s? 70s? 80s?

And why? What was the point? And how did they fool all the people that reported the news, operated the machinery, built the moon rockets, and watched them take off and land?

Do you realize that one American in 500 was a part of the Apollo program? Millions of them are still alive. Are they fooling you? Why? If you go out to a football game, look around you. In the stadium there are people who worked on the Apollo program.

Ask around. You are surrounded by people who know for sure that American astronauts stood on the moon more than 35 years ago.

And the reason why we have not gone back is that it is terrifically costly and there is no reason to spend money to go back. We found out what we needed to know, and if we ever need to know more, then we will go back then. At the time, we needed to "beat the Russians." That is no longer an issue. So why spend the billions?

Opinion does not topic. What issues is details. Fact: two guys landed at the moon on July 20, 1969. Fact: an additional 10 guys landed at the moon after that (among November 1969 and December 1972). Fact: 1000s of technicians and scientists had been concerned within the US house application for years earlier than the primary moon touchdown. Fact: the folks that doubt it occurred were not round on the time, they did not see the fundamental achievment of mankind (and most likely believe that they ignored a big old occasion. Fact: folks that doubt it occurred must study to are living with the details.

The picture that was taken from the surface of the moon looking back at earth proves to me that man landed on the moon. That was a picture that could not have been faked cause no one would have known what that would have looked like. Forget all the arguments about shadows and stuff cause light behaves totally different in a place with no air what so ever to distort it like we are used to seeing on earth.

I was around when this happened. To prevent future naysayers NASA did a direction find on the signal, showed spot on moon as source. The Russians did so secretly and would have broadcast everywhere if not true. We went to the moon because Kennedy made it a national objective trying to outdo The USSR and Sputnik. We haven't been back because a)there's nothing to see and b)satellites do it cheaper. This is question a member of the famous conspiracy theories group. I don't think Lee Harvey Oswald shot John F Kennedy by himself but that's another question.

Of course they landed on the moon. Are you a conspiracy theorist? There is no valid reason to go to the moon now except as a base from which to go into space. Of course no human can survive the atmosphere except in pressured dwellings or suits.

They seem to have enough problems just getting a rocket off the earth these days, so how did they get one to take off, land successfully on the moon, then take off again in the '60's? I say they didnt do it
