how would you cope with losing control?

i can be a bit of a control freak. i don't like losing control and it doesn't happen that often. if i'm in a situation where other people are controlling it and i'm not given a choice, i try to relax and let things happen but it can be hard, especially when they don't seem 100% confident in their own ability to lead. i have to fight the inclination to take over.

Firstly, can you regain control or is it lost for good?
The answers are dependent...
Deep breathes and count to ten. Then take the bull by the horns and steer it where I wanted to go. Let no one knock you off course.
Failing that grind teeth and swear a lot - followed by a long calming walk away from the problem and a stiff drink!

I like to be in control of situations where my physical being is concerned.
For example:
I have to be the driver in a car.
I don't drink alcohol, I don't like the loss of control over my body and thought.
I would never (under any circumstances) take illegal drugs.
I cannot stand theme park rides. You have absolutely no control there.
I don't put myself into situations where I lose control.

The only thing I would like to be in control of is, myself. Situations and people can't really be controlled. God help me when I lose control...... or should I say God help others when I lose it... lol

i would like to be in control of any situations. but that's hardly, hey, c'est la vie. losing control happens, just count from 1 to 10, and just deal with it the best's that you could.

i agree totally with 'yellowstone' apart from going on rides in the theme parks. Its weird, i love being in control yet i love going on lots of rides where its out of my control. i guess its the kid in me!
