The size of the goldfishes are medium and the arowana is quite small, it wont be anyway able to eat the goldfishes, but are they compatible?

no, you can't keep them together. Even if the arrow isn't big enough to eat the goldfish yet it will be able to eventually. The biggest reason not to keep them together (like someone already said) is the temp difference, the arrow needs 78 to 80 degrees F and the goldfish need about 74 degrees F. It doesn't sound like a big difference to us but it is for the fish. Some people think that they should just set the temp it to one or the other and let the other fish deal with the hot or cold water, but just remember that if you do that you are slowly killing those fish. I'd pick one or the other (most pet stores will take fish back as donation without much problem) but just remember that the arrow will eventually need a tank larger than 75 gallons.

No, not much can go with a goldfish. Hope you got a huge tank or better yet a lake for the arrowana.

Everyone who answered this before me apparently has no clue what an arowana is.

They are tropical fish and need water in the temp range of 76-80 degrees.

Goldfish are dirty coldwater fish and need water in the temp range of 60-65 degrees.

There is no happy medium unless you want to kill both of them. Which one do you want to kill?

How big is your tank? If its big enough they should be okay for now providing you have good filtration. Goldfish produce a lot of waste. When the arawana gets bigger the gold fish will become food.

no...the gold fish will bother it...i had a 6 in arrow...with 5 inch goldfish...they bothered the crap out of him...until he began to get spooked...then when it grew a little bit...he would chase to eat everything in the tank....It grew to 22 inches...i had to move so I couldn't keep it...but i guess until you can get a tank for it...short erm shouldn't be so bad...but no matter what the arrow will bite it....

Personally I would only keep goldfish with other goldfish. They are very dirty.
