No your not being paranoid.... and yes u have a right to be angry, just reading your post made me angry and i remember when a stranger in the store came up to my baby and kissed him on his cheek... OK i know they mean well... but still, when see a cute baby, i look at them and smile... i wave... but no way would i permit myself to touch or kiss a baby that i don't know well... not because I'm dirty or anything but just for principal... that mom doesn't know where I've been.... i don't think anything can happen from that stranger who your baby bit... did your baby bite hard enough with her teeth to basically pierce his skin... if not then everything should be fine... i just hope his hands were clean, not for danger but just for cleanliness....

Some people are so protective of their offspring that they won't let them do anything which might give them the slightest chance of picking up a germ.
Those babies then grow up completely unprotected from even the simplest of germs and as they've not developed any kind of immunity are consequently open to all sorts of horrible things developing from the simplest of infections. In the old days (Sorry, BUT....) kids were allowed to crawl all over the floor, eat bits of worms and what-else in the garden, get their fingers and tongues into everything possible (it's called "Growing Up") and when it came to the crunch, when they got a cold, it was just a cold, whereas the kids who had NO immunity because they'd led - HAD to - such a 'protected' life then went on to develop pneumonia and the like. Are you getting the message yet?
The moral of the story is that unless that man had "intent", his finger was no dirtier (and come on, might even have been cleaner!) than yours, and therefore presented no problem whatsoever to your child. If your ten month baby went on to 'bite' the man it seems to me that the child is at the stage where he/she wants something to chew/bite on, so think more along those lines rather than worrying about what was more than likely an innocent little gesture of friendliness towards a young being. I hope your baby grows into a healthy and loving person.

I don't think your paranoid at all
Watch your child for anything strange.
I hope you rinsed his/her mouth out right away,
I'm sure there were restrooms around.
I personally might have gotten arrested if anyone would have done that to my child.
After all the Germs around and a GUY especially
who knows if he even washes his hands after he uses the bathroom.
ILK I'm sorry you have me pissed off now, the nerve of him.
I would suggest NOT to leave your
precious baby out of sigh not even for two seconds.
That's all it takes for someone to snatch a baby now and days. Keep your baby in front of you while your shopping.
No one will put there hands over you to touch the baby.
Not everyone thinks its okay to touch someones baby
only Stupid Arrogant Assholes who don't know any better
Good Luck! I hope all is well and the baby is fine.
I'm sure he/she would be.
Take the baby to the doctor to get a check up.
OH keep an eye inside of his/her mouth watch for any bumps. You'll never know!

well consider this as plain accident like your child licking floor or something where you can prevent but never guarantee that it won't happen. As far as touching is considered it is based on culture and person type. In India this is quite cool and there are certain people that really like kids and can not control temptation. I am not a doctor but chances of catching infections are much higher with cell phone as far as statistics are concerned.

I am with you 100% You are not paranoid.
I never liked having strangers come up and touch my babies, either.
Years ago, people thought it was complimentary to come up and coochie-coo people's babies... Now we are wary of strangers.
Hopefully, your little one will not pick up anything bad. I would say if there was no blood, don't worry.
Your question is a good one and perhaps will bring attention to a situation that most parents don't appreciate.

The possibility of your baby getting sick is a possibility, so just keep an eye on the baby for a few days.

You should never touch someones child without their permission, I would have decked the idiot, I would keep an eye on her and take her to the doctor if you're worried, in the meantime dont let anyone touch her unless you're comfortable with them

They touch babies because they are cute, and I would get angry at him too. Fingers can become really dirty since they touch everything. Babies are really susceptible since they are young. If it really bugs you, you should bring your baby for a check-up since it only benefits you. Sorry about the stupid man. =D

give you baby some vitamins and watch for a fever. if one presents itself then take him to the doctor. chances are he will be fine though. Yeah i would be pissed off too. i hate people thinking that just because i have a baby they can touch it. I won't even let anyone in my family hold my baby unless they wash there hands. i know nervous mothers. lol good luck and good job on yelling at the guy. maybe he won't do that again to anyone good for you.
