Gold can react to the acids in your body just like silver or other metals ! Clean your wedding-ring ( lemon or Coke, but not too long!) and than coat the inside of your wedding-ring with colourless nail-varnish.
Good luck !

gold can tarnish over time but once buffed with a soft cloth will be restored as for the rash, that will have been caused by the skin not getting dried and aired properly for example if you have always worn your ring even when washing up in the bath daily chores etc etc not removing it to dry underneath can cause the skin to become irritated. Likewise if you are now regularly removing ring you are now exposing the skin more than it has previously been used to it may be extra sensitive. It is unlikely to be the gold causing your rash unless you start getting the same reaction with other gold items in other areas. Use a good dry skin cream on the rash to help it clear up. xxx

If the ring is 9 K gold it will tarnish eventually. I had one that become nearly black even after not wearing it for a while.
14k or even better 18k are the best. You should not wear it anymore if you get that rash.

no longer except you do something like disclose it to acid or harsh cleansers. The gold is blended with the different steel- maybe you're thinking of gold plated or filled gold that's an exceptionally skinny layer of gold plated over silver or a base steel. Wash gold rings in mild cleansing soap and water and dry it with a mild cloth. 14K gold scratches actual. specially situations cologne or physique spray can discolor gold. A 14K chain is a advantageous piece of rings. relish it!

It may be because the gold is of a low carat, 9ct gold for example.
There is nothing wrong with this, if I wear 9ct gold I get green fingers.
The rash could be casued by residual soap or other stuff not removed when drying your hands.

gold should not tarnish. My conclusion is that your ring is not made of gold.
(By the way: a wedding ring is not jewelry, it is a symbol. Seriously.)

no it will not tarnish, but do not worry about the rash i to always get it and its caused by not drying your finger under the ring properly. its easy to neglect this area i know but thats all it is. so dont worry!!

That's not gold you've got there...sounds like gold electroplate and it's started to wear thru to the base metal under the plating. Esp. with the dermatitis issue you raised. Real gold doesn't discolour your skin.
Sometimes "14K gold" refers to the plating! You've got to be careful! Look for an assayer's mark. If there isn't one...you got took.
