Try scanning it with an anti-virus, but sometimes it doesn't work. With my Norton Anti-Virus it finds about 15 viral/adware things but when you click delete it can't get rid of them. You could try a system Restore, I always find that's useful.

With good quality antivirus software on your computer that is constantly running the in the background and kept up to date with the manufacturer, it's very likely that you will be able to keep your computer clean. That is not a guarantee, however.

Staying virus free also means being careful about where you go on the Internet and keeping your security settings in the medium range. If you don't know what that means, then don't worry. Windows applications such as Internet Explorer are automatically set up at that security level.

To be on the safe side, it is better to not download any email attachments unless you know who it is from. Antivirus software is pretty good, but it isn't infallible.

Install Google Updater, get the Google version of Norton Anti-Virus, and then run the anti-virus.

Once you've cleaned up your PC, schedule a full scan at least once a week to check it in the future.

get an anti virus software that works. i suggest mcaffee which has online and offline support. free anti virus softwares usually have some kinda catch like an advertisement for you to buy something. They do scan for your viruses but getting rid of them is a totally different thing. Try mcaffee for best results. You can buy it and download it online too.

Hi,

Basic steps:

Get an untivirus software
Get an unti adware software http://www.deletespyware-adware.com

If you have Win XP go to control panel find Security center. Then make sure Automatic updates is turned ON. Firewall must be turned ON as well.

Scan using both your untivirus/untiadware software every month ...

That is safety.
