he shouldn't, he should be on the bench, Gerrard should be in the centre and a right winger should be on the right, e.g. Lennon if fit. or wright-phillips, pennant. Steven Gerrard is the best attacking midfield player in the world, he has often been a one man team at Liverpool and putting him on the right is suppressing that ability and hindering the team due to his constant dropping into the centre.

Yeah, I totally agree with you. He didn't even score a goal for England at the world cup and has been disastrous since. I think choosing Mclaren as England's manager is absurd. He does'nt have enough experience to coach England. Gerrard performed better than Lampard at WC 2006.

Lampard and Gerrard are both great players but they play the same position and occupy the same space.
They cancel each other out ,play one or the other and play a proper winger.
Also with Rooney getting no joy up front he tends to drop back into the same area that lampard and Gerrard fill.
