a nerve cell can be also called a neurone. 1 example of a specialised nerve cell/neurone is a sensory neurone which transmits nerve impulses from a receptor to the central nervous system (brain or spinal cord)
another is motor neurone which transmits nerve impulses from the central nervous system to an effector (muscle)
the last one is the relay neurone also called interneurones which transmits nerve impulses between other neurones e.g. between a sensory & motor neurone.

This entirely depends on in what tissue the nerve is found and which organs or areas it is innervating. Additionally its function will determine part of the name.

Do you have anything particular in mind?
