there is a chance that we will find some new materials or compounds on mars. we may possibly find something novel, for example, suppose we didnt have any diamonds on earth, and there were some on mars, that would be something new that would be useful to us, not for diamond rings, but because of their other properties, like hardness. so in that sense, there could be some novel materials there. the cost of bringing routine materials like gold would be very cost prohibitive, and very technically challenging. maybe decades or centuries from now, we will be able to routinely transport back and forth, but there's no way we could do it now.

First answer:
It's certainly possible that Mars has new materials, minerals, substances that we don't know about. Most of Mars - in particular, the canyons and the underground - haven't been extensively tested for unique materials. I don't know what the "chance" is for a discovery like that.
What we DO know is that Mars has a higher quantity of useful materials already known about, especially deterium, an "essential material" for nuclear power plants (5 times more common on Mars than on Earth). That would be quite useful!
Second answer:
To leave Earth, a machine will require navigation equipment and a lot of fuel to escape Earth's gravity and get to Mars safely, making it with a lot of mass and expensive.
To get Martian stuff, it will require engineering technology and power (which can be fuel, solar energy, whatever), making more mass and it more expensive.
Lastly, to get the Martian stuff back to Earth in research-ready condition, it will require safe, radiation-deflecting canisters and even more fuel to leave Mars's atmosphere and get to Earth safely, making it with even more mass, making it really expensive!
So, yes, engineering-wise, retrieving Mars samples isn't that hard; making it affordable to willing governments is hard.

For new elements....zero chance, for some new compounds, maybe....but staying within the periodic table....The last several elements are man-man by fusion and fission and last a nanosecond or so....but the periodic table is complete....so no new entries. To bring things back to the eart is cost prohibitive....just too much money....and what we need, they don't have on Mars....Oil.

we cannot because we are not God, we will just be happy with our mother Earth and conserve it for our future generations,
we cannot make floods or earthquake stop, so it so impossible to play with God
