Is weight in newton = weight in kgs?

weight is not measured in Kg, Kg are units for mass. however, in a constants gravity, as happens on the surface of the earth, usually there is a clear correlation between mass and weight:

F = M*g

where F is the force, and is the same as weight(weight is actually the force that the earth excert on mass), M is the mass, and g is a constant, that on earth's surface is equivalent to 9.8.

In your case, if you measured your weight on the surface of the earth, and you found that your mass is 50 Kg, it means that the earth pulled you towards it with the force of roughly 500 N.

or better yet 9.8*50 N = 490N

A newton is the amount of force required to accelerate a mass of one kilogram by one metre per second squared.

1 N is the force of Earth's gravity on an apple with a mass of about 102 g.
On Earth's surface, a mass of 1 kg exerts a force of 9.8 N on its support.
The deprecated unit kilogram-force (kgf, often just kg) or kilopond (kp) is defined as the force exerted by one kilogram of mass in standard Earth gravity. Although the gravitational pull of the Earth varies as a function of position on earth, it is here defined as exactly 9.80665 m/s². So one kilogram-force is by definition equal to 9.80665 newtons.

The kilogram-force has never been a part of the International System of Units (SI), which was introduced in 1960. The SI unit of force is the newton.

in newton we measure force
weight is measure in kgs.

leard a little more please..........

newton is the unit for weight. In other words yes you are 50N. But in reality you are not 50kg you are 50kgf. Ohh and if you didnt know f is the force acting on you may be gravity or if someone is pushing you down, etc.

Newton is a unit of Force not weight.

See don't be confused,
Newton is the unit of mass and kg is the unit of weight.Mass is constant throghout the universe but weight changes.weight depends upon the g value the place.like my mass is 10newtons,

so my weight on earth is 10*9.8(g value of earth)
