why is it all these rock dinasours who have been taking all the drugs under the sun seem to live to really old age like the stones the kinks aerosmith etc and can still bounce about onstage and seem clued up and happy then you get average office joe who has a heartache in hes 40's?

There are only a handful of rock dinosaur rock stars living. Most did not survive the drug era of the 60's and 70's. Those that did have major medical problems. Look at Steven Tyler, he just admitted he has Hepatitis C. Ozzy Osbourne, you think he is doing good???
As far as them having energy, they have the money to go to spas, personal chefs, no stress from earning enough money to pay bills, etc.......

The rockers you mention are not exactly in their dotage! Drugs destroy lives. Look at some of the lives of the people you mention, marriage breakups, short term shallow relationships, upheaval, alcoholism.....a catalogue of messed up lives. And its not just them, all the people affected by their drug taking habits including young children. The only reason they are still alive is probably becaus ethey have the money for top class medical care!
Then again look at all the people who die painfully young because of drugs.
Drugs are not good!

Most of them are in their 50's or 60's - that's not old! If they get to 90 that's old!
If they do live a long time it will be due to having money to get they personal trainers and high quality orgainic foods. Most drugs won't help you live longer!

Janice Joplin, Jimi Hendrix .... the list of rock stars who died in their prime through drug abuse is a long one.
The ones who only just managed to survive by rehab. is also long: Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker ...

probable a blend of ego, drugs and alcohol. the most tragic tale develop into for sure what got here about to Lynyrd Skynyrd. The worst thanks to bypass in my opinion might want to be suicide.

they stay active i suppose,they dont have to sit at a desk getting fat.Dont think drugs have helped them though.
