Many people think Jordan, Bird, and Magic are ranked above him, but i haven't seen jordan score 81 points on Hardwood Classics. Sure Wilt scored 100, but Wilt was also the big man in midget town back then. Try scoring 100 points today with Yao ming in your face.Kobe is definitely the best scorer and his defense was also on All Nba Defensive team # 1. U decide

No, he is not the GOAT (greatest of all time). I mean the GOAT has to be a good all around player. Good at every aspect of the game. Now, I love Kobe, but he's not the GOAT. I'll say he's the greatest scorer of all time, Wilt Chamberlain is just a cheater, so Kobe's the best scorer. But I don't think there will ever be an established GOAT because players keep developing and soon, I guarantee u, that someone will surpass M Jordan. Basketball is progressing and everyone is getting better. Plus, no one is good at every part of the game. So, as much as I love Kobe, he's not the best. There will never be a best.

NO NOT EVEN CLOSE. He can score and play little defense. Wilt Chamberlin could do that also and he meant more to his team than Kobe does. Yes he probably is one of the best basketball players offensivly but too many other players are way better defensivly and still can be dominant on offense. If the defense was still the same now as it was like 5 or 10 years ago this conversation would be different.

You are crazy just like everybody else that thinks Kobe can ball. If the NBA was one on one and not a team sport then yeah Kobe would be the man. Since you have people on a your team then you need to pass and play well with others then you maybe you have a chance a being the greatest

He's among the all time best, but he has no legitimate argument to be made in his favor for being THE best ever... even Jordan has ONE argument, which is that he has the highest scoring averge per game over his career... even though he only holds that record because he shoots more than anyone else (including Kobe) (and before anyone makes this point, Jordan's six rings is not even close to the record)
Wilt, Shaq, Russell, Bird, Magic, Oscar, Kareem and Jordan are the only players with an argument to be called the best ever... and the real answer to that question is Wilt.

He is a scorer> Not a great player of all time. If he passed more he would be a great player of all time. He is 6 ft 6 and averaged less then 1 block a game. he doesnt play Defense. Nash, at 6 ft 4 got more blocks then him and playes 6 minutes less a game which after 80 games is 480 minutes more with only doing better in scoring.

No not even best in the league. The 81 points was against the raptors. Any star can do that. There are people like LeBron James and T MAC who are great at the moment . As well as all time greats like Larry Bird, Magic, Wilt Chamberlin, and the always great carreer of Shaq.
