is this true?

I believe so, the way you react to people sends them the messages on how to treat you. If you act submissive they will become more dominant normally. If you act more dominant they either will butt heads with you or become submissive or start treating you as an equal. But, what do I know, its 5AM here and I havn't slept yet!!!

“What goes around comes around just as it goes up and comes right backs down” Law of Karma they call it,
We do teach people how to treat us by the way we treat others. For example you treat me badly I learn from it and treat the next person the same way, him/her learns from it and treats the next person just the same way till it comes right back to u and I. I think Dr Phil has a clue in what he said.

I think we can teach by example. If we treat people with respect then it is natural that said respect shown will be returned. We also need to be clear about any boundaries we may have when dealing with people, as well as being sensitive to the boundaries of others.

Yes I agree. I believe that no body has the right to treat me like **** therefore I give other people the respect that I want to receive from them. and if I do come across somebody that does treat me like that I just come straight out then and their and say who do you think you are speaking to me like that and walk away most of the time that person will apologize to me and if not at least they know next time that I will not tolerate people speaking to me like that. And that my friend is how I teach people that in order to get respect you need to give it.

absolutely.what you allow, will be.if you allow infidelity,it will be.if you allow lies, it will be.if you allow abuse,it will be.you must stand up to all who intrude on your life and feelings.if you know someone is mistreating you,you must remove your self from that person.if you want to be loved a certain way you don't have to feel odd and afraid to ask for the kind of love you need.you just have to be brave enough to know that if a person does not satisfy your desires that it's OK to leave that relationship and move to where you are satisfied.if you abused in any way if you stay you are allowing your self to be mistreated.you can't blame the abuser unless you are a child.you allow you to be mistreated.remember that, you allow you to be mistreated.I just love that Dr. Phil.

Absolutely, we set the ground rules and the standards regarding how we expect to be treated. When we tolerate disrespect and humiliation, we encourage people to treat us this way. When we confront it and demand respect, we teach others that this is how we expect to be treated.

Of course we do. Example: someone treats you badly once. You take it without standing up for yourself. Bingo: you have taught that person that you're a doormat and can be walked all over any time they choose.
