Are you in Australia? If so, this would be an international adoption and would require lots of things to be done prior to birth if someone from the US was to adopt your child.
IN the US every potential adoptive parent MUST have an approved homestudy by a State Certified Social Worker. You do not have to sign up with an Agency. You can go thru an Attorney for an Independant Adoption.

I really would go through an adoption agency, so you can find serious people who've been interested in adopting for a long time. Maybe you'd find someone on yahoo questions, but I highly doubt it, and plus, you're probably going to get lots of prankers. Good luck to you.

I would like to commend you on doing what you feel is best for your baby. It must be really hard to make that decision, and you are a very strong lady. Good luck on finding wonderful parents for your child. Remember to meet them several times, and get references, and go through the proper legal steps. I think this is ok without the agency, if you do the agency steps yourself and screen, and have the proper legal work in order. Good luck to you!

This is very selfless of you to put your baby before yourself in wanting to find him/her a wonderful family.
Where do you live? Depending, my parents may be interested. Our family has already been blessed by adoption, and have been considering adopting again.
