When I eas 16 and it felt like the end of the world I used to listen to November Rain by Guns n Roses. I love against all odds too.

I asked a girl out once, and she rejected me harshly on the spot in front of a whole bunch of people. So I went home and played "Creeping Death" by Metallica and felt a whole lot better afterwards.
The other one that works well is "No Woman No Cry" by Bob Marley. Or "He Man Woman Hater" by Extreme.
I wrote a song when I was 16 called "I Hate You" and that is also one of the best breakup songs you'll ever hear too, if I do say so myself...

Some Days You Gotta Dance by The Dixie Chicks. It's fast and up beat and the chorus is:
"Some days you gotta dance,
Live it up while you've got the chance,
Cos when this world doesn't make no sense,
And you're feeling just a little too tense,
Gotta loosen up those chains and dance"
Made me wake up and realise that life goes on.
(Incidentally the following boyfriend became my husband - 5 years later and still madly in love!)

My ex gave me an mp3 of this song called 'Last Train Home' by Lost Prophets. He was a real jerk to me and I didn't understand how he could have done all that he had to me. After quite a few hours of listening to this song, it hit me. If he was such a jerk and so stupid, and I hadn't even loved him, why be so obsessed over him doing the greatest thing for me.... dumping me! I couldn't have done it myself and he did me a real favor. All of this I learned from a single song.
