Interesting question. It all comes down to value and time. Saving it will probably deliver the best value over a long time period and it will protect you if you run into hard times.

Driving lessons would possibly add to your skills although making use of those skills would be difficult if you dont have access to a car.

A laptop may well help you when you get your computing job although you may get given one by your company, so possibly best to wait.

PS2 - This depends on what value you put on solo recreation.

Ultimately value is subjective, only you can answer your question. Just weigh up the costs and benefits of each and then compare your answers to get your best solution.

Other respondents correct u can't take it with you.
Suggest however the following.
1 deduct your expenses.
2 pay parents 50% of remainder
3 Invest 10% of remainder, reinvest 90%of all returns/interest.
4 Spend Most of the rest on YOU - enjoy.
5 Anything left by next pay packet invest 50% in seperate fund
for presents or a rainy day.
6 Drop the change in your purse so you can respond when
some-one rattles a charity tin at you.

Save it. Even if you pass your test you will need a car to drive. Your job is only temporary, wait until you have a steady job before you start spending.

Beware of the intense driving courses they say you pass within a week but if you fail all they offer you is another attempt at the test but i would say driving lessons would be the best thing to put your money towards as its going to affect your future!

I wouldn't spend it just yet. Surely you've got bills or other outgoings? If you're desperate for a PS2, just get a 2nd hand black one.
If you really have no other outgoings, save it for your driving test. Learning to drive is one of the best things you can do - it gives you freedom. But remember, whether you're buying a cheap run around for yourself or borrowing somenone else's car - you'll need extra cash for insurance, petrol and general maintenance of the car.

I say..go for the driving course. You may never know. Having pass the test may lead you to some other avenue for jobs.. Perhaps, personal driver, maybe a cab driver etc...

This might sound boring but I think you should save it. My biggest regret is not saving my money when I lived at my parents. Its easy to just blow it but when you want a car or feel you are ready to buy a house you will wish you had. Good Luck

Definitely driving lessons. And if you pass the basic test, do advanced lessons and aim for the advanced test, you'll never regret being a good driver.
