VerizonFIOS service is available in many areas and spreading. You can get speeds up to 45 Mbps (T3) and higher.
Your cable service is probably at LEAST a T1 already (1.544 Mbps).
Also, cable providers can easily pump data at rates faster than that. Have you given them a call to find out if you can upgrade your service plan to have higher limits?

T1 or T3 Bandwidths can be achieved, usually, with a SatLink. And that is quite expensive!
Question is, where are you at?
You could ask Earthlink to let you know what's the best bandwidth they can give you.

The average T-1 line may cost you up to $169/month and a T-3 considering you find a company that supoorts it may cost well over $299/month plus installation fees and other hidden costs...definitely not worth it unless you run a business and can afford the operating costs.
