That is under software control and so you may have to re-format and re-install your operating system and everything. It could also be hardware a short on that switch. I would switch on and hold down delete - see if you can get into the bios and look at the settings there. Make sure it's booting from ide0 - maybe you can optimise the boot process. Not enough info to give you an answer - you haven't even said what your operating system is.

You are not alone - We have the exact same problem.
We took our's to PC World who said there was nothing wrong with it, on two occasions. And of course, now that the warranty has run out, they want paid for the privelege of looking at the thing and saying there's nothing wrong!
Then, we took it to a Qualified PC Technician, who replaced the memory card and said to try changing the card into a different slot every time the switching off happened. It's still happening...
It's doing our head in too, we've got every sympathy for you.

It could be a faulty power supply, or that the power supply is too small for the pc. I'm amazed that a qualified technician wouldn't know that, I'd ask for my money back and take it some where else!
If its still under warranty its not your problem; if not then get a Microsoft Certified engineer to look at it. Their work is insured and guaranteed!

Haha I had this concern basically the former day! impulsively my laptop grew to become off and could do this each and every 10 minutes once I grew to become it on back. as quickly as I opened it, no longer something appeared suspicious in any respect, it replaced into particularly sparkling and not very dusty. besides the indisputable fact that basically keeping the vacuum purifier on the factor of the CPU fan for some seconds solved the subject. You suggested you wiped sparkling the followers already so perhaps you may replace the thermal paste that transfers the warmth away out of your CPU or basically take out the CPU + fan and sparkling it/them truly thoroughly solid success!

If it's within the warranty period, my advise to you is to get the Vendor who sold you the system to repair it.
If it's beyond the warranty period, I'd advise you to take the Computer to a professional. It might cost you a bit of money to hire one, but it's well worth it, because this is not the kind of thing that you can DIY [Do It Yourself]. You could be badly hurt trying to fiddle around with the insides and that isn't worth it.
All the best.
Cheers.

Your motherboard could have received a power-surge. Remove all components except the ram and the cpu and test to see if it still switches off.
You might just end up buying a replacement motherboard, if your computer is out of warranty.

If it is still under waranty I would suggest phoning the manufactorer for help.
Otherwise the website for the computer might have a help page.
