My family all claim to be part cherokee and blackfoot, but our family history is very hard to prove. It's pretty much impossible for me do geneology. I cannot find anyone.

I would like to know for sure that we are Indian, because if I am I would like to learn more about our history, but I feel stupid because I can't prove it.

Geneology site are very hopeless, I've tried a few of them.

The Mormons are very much into genealogy. At our local library, there are several people(Mormons) that tell you that you can contact them to trace your roots.I don't know if they charge for this service as I haven't used them yet.I'm in Calif.but it would be worth a trip to the library to find out.The person at the front when you first walk in could probably direct you to were you can find that info.At our library there were several ladies that offered that service.I know if you are so much percentage Indian, you can get allot of perks.Friend of mine ended up in the hospital for several weeks and with all kinds of tests, once they diagnosed her problem, she had surgery. Then had to stay for another week or two for observation. She didn't have to pay a dime because of her Indian heritage.I guess it's the governments feeble attempt at trying to "MAKE NICE" for stealing EVERYTHING from your ancestors. Good luck on finding your roots.I bet you're excited.Take care and God bless you.

Just trace your roots period. Find out the truth, whatever that may be. If you find there is Chinese, African, and Cherokee in your roots, dig into all of them. You are the sum total of your ancestors.

I think a lot of us have Native American blood. Learn the history whatever the case may be ... we are on their land.
