Saw a documentary on T.Rex, someone was commenting on the glam look, the makeup, the glitter, the femininity of guys like Marc Bolan and David Bowie, that if you wanted the hip girls, you had to look like one of them and that even Elvis wore some eyeshadow. What do they mean by that, having to look like one of them

You don't have to look like them, but I definitely drool over the androgynous guys as well as the muscled, toned ones. I love them equally... especially when they're both. ^^ Make-up f*cking rocks on guys. That shows their security in their sexuality, which makes them waaay hotter.

Glam rock was a larger than life, extreme look on guys who dressed pretty much like girls and wore tons of make-up. Many girls found it very attractive when the guys of that era dressed very feminine and looked more androgenous, with make-up and the outlandish dress.

Their groupies obviously got into their look & tried every way they could to get backstage & meet the band. Many were shut out.

However, if some male fans took on the same look & attitude, the women would flock to them because they were available.
I saw it time & time again.

They meant to get a girl you had to dress like one. Though that isn't necessarily true it really does turn some girls on.

It means you have to be willing to be a little girly. Back then they called it Glam-Rock. These days we call it Metro-Sexual.....
