My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant with our first child for 10 months now. We have stopped concentrating so much on really getting pregnant. (If that made sense) I'm just wondering if anyone knows the best route to take. I went to the doctor and need to go in for blood work and an ultrasound. (have a hardness on right lower abdomen)

➔ Trying to Conceive
That brought up a good point: Neither of us smoke or drink. Never have. Also, we are 20 and otherwise seemingly healthy (besides that fullness thing that causes some discomfort)

It took my husband and I 3 years to get pregnant, with twins!
But, I have twins in my family and I also prayed for twins since I was a little girl.
I was 34 when I conceived and 35 when they were born.
Maybe you can change your diet. Less sweets and more fruits and veggies. More water, less coffee and sodas. Same for you hubby as well.
Do you read the BabyCenter website at all? Maybe you can get some more adivse there as well.

Hello there,
I would first get all the exams out of the way. Check out this hardness on the lower abdomen to make sure it's not a cyst or something else.
If all is okay, than it's a matter of time before you get pregnant.
Not all young people get pregnant on their first try.
Also examine your family situation, are you both under stress? If so it's harder to get pregnant when the body and mind is not at ease.
If you both have the chance to get a way from your hectic daily life and take a vacation.
The body responds better when it's relax.
I hope you and your husband can soon have a child on the way.
The best of luck.

I would invest in some ovulation predictor kits and a good basal body thermometer. If you aren't already, take your temperature every morning when you wake up and chart it either on paper or on the web at Fertility Friend. You should see a clear thermal shift around ovulation time that will help you see when you are ovulating. If you find that you aren't ovulating, bring it up to your doctor. You may have anovulatory cycles or PCOS, which many times need medications to correct.
I tried to get pregnant for 2 years and I was having anovulatory cycles. I did everything I could to research this problem and discovered I had PCOS. I read the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility and I credit that book to my pregnancy and my beautiful baby girl. Good luck!

Yeah, you made sense, I know someone who tried for 5 years to conceive and finally gave up all hope. Well now she is the mother of a beautiful little girl. Just relax and nature will take its course.
Good luck.

Have you calculated your dates of ovulation?
As for the hardness, did you test out negative on a pt? Maybe that is what that is.
