I have a really slow battery life, after 51 minutes it dropped to 26%. I heard people are talking about some batterys catching fire. Does anybody know a websire where i can check the model number, dont wont a fire

it sounds like you're just suffering from a dodgy estimate of the amount of charge remaining in your laptop's battery. Unfortunately, there is no easy way of finding out how much time a battery will actually last, because the characteristics change over time, and the remaining charge cannot be measured directly (except by actually draining it, but no power-management tools I know of actually keep a record)

I don't think Sony is actually recalling any batteries from their own-branded laptops (but I could be wrong).

If you want your battery life to increase, try disabling hibernation, standby and all that other power-management rubbish - just let your laptop die when the battery goes (run your processors on speed-step and dim your screen to really drain the battery before it conks out). You might have to adjust some settings in the BIOS. Your HDD shoud be OK because they auto-park these days (they hold enough charge to park the heads).
