Pro's: its a good place to go rant and get something out of your system, a good way for friends and family to keep up with what you are doing.
Cons: Giving out too much information, searching for attention, some personal views are better left to yourself!

Pro: niche community of same interests as you
Con: info can often be misleading
Pro: can get information very quickly
Con: can take up all your free time
Pro: can network with useful resources
Con: can have swankers who don't agree with you and attack your blog in other forums
Pro: good outlet for creative energy
Con: can accidently leak out personal information to unsavory strangers

pros-
Basically u write about what u feel like! About ur family, ur hobbies, ur school, studies, ur job, ur children, ur spouse, ur political views, or celebrities or maybe promote ur business-anything u want!
cons-
many ppl take their "freedom of expresion" right quite too far and use this as a platform to mislead, harass, abuse others!
