Been there. There's a good chance it'll work if you've done things right. This is what I read you should do, and its worked for me more than once.
1) Turn it off if it isn't. Take out the battery asap. Take off any removable parts (ie battery, cover, ect).
2) Shake as much water as you can out.
3) (optional) Dip it in alchohol and then shake it out. Alchohol dries faster than water and it makes sure there's less of a chance of things corroding.
4) Dry off whatever you can with a towel.
5) Let it sit for 2-3 days in a dry place.
Then you can try turning it on and see if it works. There's a good chance you'll get a few months out of it, but after that things'll probably start to go out on it *knock on wood* as they corrode (speaker, screen, ect). Good luck!

The main problem with electronic appliances is that liquids cause
corrosion and may lead to a short circuit.
When a cellphone get soaked in water, you should move it from the wet area and try to dry it with a towel.
Beware, if it's connected to a power outlet, don't touch it without cutting the power off while using all standard electricity precautions.
If it doesn't work after a few hours, it is probably unfixable. But if you can open it and blow dry the circuits (with an hair dryer for example) then you might save it.

should of left it on. but try to leave it out in the direct sun-lite for another day or two .take battery out and try shaking it vigorously every couple hours while in the sunlight.if it turns back on don't turn it off. before you try turning it on try charging it first after a couple more days of sun and shaking.but the fact that it came on and then you turned it off . but wont turn on again is not good.water and live circuits don't mix well at all. be glad you didn't drop a space heater in the pool with somebody in it

Yep, i'm sorry to declare that this is notably plenty shot. I walked into my pool with my telephone clipped for roughly 30 seconds, felt it vibrate and that i took it out at recent and took the battery out, tried to shake each and all of the water out, and placed it in the sunlight for roughly an hour. then i went abode and it tried to show on, in spite of the shown fact that it did no longer. waited a pair hours, and it became on with the charger and it labored yet buttons does no longer artwork and it does no longer ring, it might basically take place as neglected call. Ask your service approximately refurbished telephones. that's what I did, and u get it extra much less costly and this is guaranteed to artwork through fact it has to bypass with the aid of maximum of inspections. wish you get a telephone that works. =) Ryan

Take the battery out and if it is a flip phone leave it open on a towel for about a day if it is warm give it two days. More or less let it dry out and it should start working again. Been there!!!!!!!

My two year old nephew decided that it would be fun to see if my cell phone would float in his kiddie pool. I tried drying the thing out, but eventually it just quit. I ended up having to buy a new one. Did you get the insurance on it? if you did you might be able to get a new one at no charge or at a discount.
