i hate seeing ppl use a phone!!!! it is never ok to use one when u drive, next time youi use it, pay attention to how long your eyes go off the road!!!!!!! it only takes one second for someone to slam their brakes on and you could kill a family, is your call really worth that, when i drive i use a hands free head set, would you like me to use my phone when i drive my big rig....53 feet long truck, the truck weighs 10 times what your car weighs.....when i use the phone i will be sure to be nere you and be looking at my phone and not at your car......would that be ok? do you mind me driving over your car sounds stupid....huh???....lol

my hands free unit, is actually hands free, your voice calls people, you do not have to touch the phone ever. they will be out there soon and be alot cheaper.....i hope, so everyone will use that, there are times that i have no choice in a big rig, it is not a car, you have little time to find the drop off point, and need to call the people you deliver to, so the hands free unit is wonderful!.......driving a truck, you have to shift constantly, the C B radio is going, you have to be alert. anything to keep your eyes on the road is worth paying for!!!!!!!!! i would drive my truck into a brick wall before i would hit someone.

thanks for all the great answers!!!.........i don't have a choice but to use my hands free unit, i don't care if i look stupid, i would look stupid anyday over killing a bus full of kids.........which if you ask any truck driver, that is the number one thing we avoid at all costs....we would drive off a clif before hitting children, or anyone, but kids.....boy that is on my mind every time my eyes are not on the road....(which is rare)

i use mine as well . i try to use the headset but it seems that it is just out of reach and it is more dangerous for me to try to get it , plug it in , and put it in my ear than it is to just talk and get done with my convo

I use hands free features and only talk if I am getting directions or telling someone I will return their call. If I intend to have a conversation, I will pull over into a parking lot and converse. People might think they can drive and use a cell phone, but they do not drive well, they frequently swerve out of their lanes, over-turn and drive too slow or too fast, not really paying attention to the flow of traffic.

Due to my job, I have to use my cell phone several times a day on the road. I use my Bluetooth headset 90% of the time (whenever I'm making an outgoing call), but I refuse to wear the headset if I'm not speaking to someone. People who wear them all the time look like jerks, and I don't want to be one of those people. So when I get an incoming call, I guess I'm guilty.

I do have a perfect driving record, though, so don't hate me too much.

I only use my cell phone when i absolutly need to. often times i'll tell the person that i'll call them bakc when i'm not driving, i think that most people are understanding if you are driving. I'm pretty sure that it is illegal in some areas to drive while on the cell phone. I agree with you, it is stupid to drive hwile on the phone, i think that the hand free head sets are just as bad though. I think that not having your full attention on the road is just as bad as not having both hands on the wheel, but not everyone sees it the same.

I don't use a cell phone. My view is that if I am not at home then I don't need to be or want to be bothered.

I also hate that our culture has become some dependent on cell phones.People have become more rude, worse drivers, and inconsiderate of others because of those things.Sometimes I wish that the technology of cell phones had never come to be or would start to fail.

But that is just me.My harsh opinion is based on everything from dealing with motorists on their cell phones and driving badly because they are to busy chattering to being in line at a store while they are on their phone distracted from what they are at the store for to being at a movie theater and having to listen to them chattering away in the middle of a movie.

Amen to that! I drive a big rig too. My family and friends are used to me saying "hold on a second" because I put driving over talking, and would rather have few seconds of silence than an eternity of silence.

Nooo... it's one of my driving pet peeves! I HATE it when I see someone talking on their freaking cell phone while they're driving. FOCUS ON THE ROAD, NUMBNUT! And they DO have the option of a hands free set, which irritates me because most people don't use it!
