capacitance and inductance are used together to tune radios, because with specific combination only a specific frequency can pass through. All other frequencies are filtered out. This also apply for for electric circuits, such as a loudspeaker.
They follow the formula : F=1/(2Pi (LC)^.5)

Capacitance is the ability of a material to store charge, inductance is the property of being induced by external fields to conduct electrical current.
