Computers are a good example of globalisation. They had their origins inAmerican WWII and later university technology. The Japanese turned them into consumer goods we can all use and the Chinese made them cheap enough for us all to afford one.

Globalisation is tthe attempt to have every country in the world as similar to one another as possible. It may sound good, but who decides what country is going to lead all the others? Also, I don't think losing one's individuality is a very good idea at all.

think 'world wide' changes

its something, (a service, a business a phenomenon,) which has spread across several countries until it is global, or spread across the entire globe

Bill Gates became Mr Microsoft, and probably had a few sites across America before opening businesses in other countries. He then expands into other, less traditional countries until he has become a global phenomenon

quicker still - think of Bird flu. because of international flights and the ease of travelling, an infected person can fly from Asia to Europe, come into contact with other travellers bound for Africa, America, Australia and the Middle East before leaving the airport. Those people then spread it to non flying travellers in their country.. the epidemic just became global

a bit dramatic, but easy to picture
