When it was announced Pluto, my ruling planet, wasn't really a planet I knew I had been taken for a ride.

Up until then I had paid for monthly forecasts from an astrologer, who was always careful to take into account the influence of Pluto in each reading. As I'd been making decisions based upon flawed information that I was paying for I feel I should be entitled to some kind of recompense.

I can't be the only one that thinks this surely?

Oh dear psstthok, I should think the reason Holst didn't include Pluto in The Planets, which he composed about 1915, was that Pluto hadn't been discovered until 1930.

I know Pluto hasn't dissappeared but it has been demoted somewhat.

Good answer though Pssthok. I'm tempted.

Pluto has not been DE-classified as a planet its been RE-classified as a dwarf planet. This in no way invalidates any of your prior readings (Russell, Meg - you owe me for that, pop a cheque in the post will you).

The only real impact on you is that you now have to cut your legs off so that your corporeal manifestation matches that dictated by your Ruling Planet, The Dwarf.

Anyways, when Gustav Holst wrote the Planets Suite - he did not include Pluto - if he knew about a hundred years ago, why are you bleating now?

In any case, Astrology is bunkum - you should switch immediately to the Tarot - but be warned this is a discipline that is also undergoing changes, for example:
In the Minor Arcana,
Swords become plastic kiddy-scissors;
Cups become plastic beer glasses, as used at sporting events and concerts;
Batons become those twisty balloons that you can twist into cute little animals at kiddies parties;
Pentacles become smarties.

In tha Major Arcana:
The Hanged Man becomes The Man Sentenced to Life Imprisonment;
Death becomes Gone to a better place, dearly missed, but always in our hearts, thoughts and prayers;
The Fool becomes President of The USA;

For the remaining 19 revised definitions of the Major Arcana, please send your credit card details and you will get an exciting new definition fortnightly (plus a free full-colour Ring-binder and wallchart) for just 19.95 each, billed discretely to your card as "There's one Born Every Minute.inc"

Consider this also - Jonathan Canier, the vastly over paid (You really don't want to know how much, it'll ruin your day!) astrologer for the Mirror, did a piece predicting that not only would Pluto be confirmed as a planet, but Charon and Ceres would also be given planet status. Of course this is about as wrong as he could be, but the weekend supplement went to press before the IAU announced their decision! Did Canier resign in embarrassment? What do you you think?

While I'm at it, just to demonstrate how silly the whole business is, I am, according to Astrologers, a Pisces, because I was born on the 9th of March, and the Sun was in the constellation of Pisces. Well, leaving aside the fact that the sun wasn't in any constellation because that is a line of sight effect, the thing is that Astrologers use a centuries out of date, geo-centric model of the universe that has no resemblance to anything actually going on in the sky. Because the equinox varies over time, the sun is actually in Aries on my birthdate! Yet that does not stop me being labelled as a 'water sign', and there are countless books available to guide me through life and describe my personality, all based on a load of codswallop!

Russell Grant would be stirring the porridge for breakfast and mystic Meg would spend her time perfecting her Origami with the News of the World supplement. The Sri Lankans would probably put an apple in Grants gob whilst Meg is turning the handle.

Sigh here goes this argument again. Yes Pluto will stay in astrology, it is still a planetoid people. And yes Scopios will still be governed by their planetoid. I'm ruled by the moon for more than one way myself 1. I'm a cancer 2. I was born on Tuesday (which is the day of the moon by the way) and 3. I was born under a full moon. Astrology takes many things under account. Dont' worry about what the bored idiots at NASA think hun, if astrology has worked for you in the past, it will in the future.

whether you believe in horoscopes or not you can't blame any1 but yourself for decisions you make. We are all adult and are capable of drawing our own conclusions ablout the path we take in our lives. l do think too much emphasis is placed on horoscopes and think we should all have a little more confidence in our own judgement.
trust your own instincts and develope your own inner voice and then you won't need to rely on mystic meg or russel grant... et al.

There are some good books you can read on persoanl development and trusting your instincts

good luck x

My understanding is that even though Pluto has been demoted and is now not a full planet, it is still taken into account by astrologers. Ceres was never regarded as a full planet but has been included in astrological calculations.

But I do still think you have a case if the influence of Pluto has been overstated in the past by a particular astrologer that you have consulted.

So because something's name has been changed, you assume its influence is worthless? Not so. Many astrologers take into account some of the larger meteoriods, such as Ceres and Vesta, and I don't see any reason why Kuiper belt objects can't be taken into account as well. (I've never had a professional horoscope done besides a birth chart, but I'm dying to have one done that includes the influence of Eris...)

I think it's a risk you take when you subscribe to these kinds of things.

I don't think it's particularly healthy either to make decisions based on the information provided by astrologer's who can't take into account everything going on in your life. Move on.

And why didn't the astrologer's predict this anyway???

I know your pain, what worries me is the rarely reported war between Jupier and Saturn, my ruling planets. Both sides have an artillery of such phenominal power that it looks almost innevitable that both planets will be destroyed completely in the coming weeks. That effectively leaves me with no life whatsoever and I along with all other Saggitarians will be sucked into a permanent void of nothingness.
