From LAX, in May, we paid about 900 dollars round trip for each person. This coming October, we are paying about 750 dollars round trip for one person. It all varies on which travel agency you use, what time of year you fly, where you are flying from, and so on.

American Airlines started advertising flights RT to Tokyo for about 600 dollars in May and October..which must be off season from chicago and NY to Japan.

I usually pay around $500. Last time I got lucky it was $290. Always try traveling in off season.
