Alot of people get heartburn from drinking orange juice and from eating or drinking alot of other things as well. If there is a weight issue (of being obese or near so) what may be taking place is called acid reflux which will grow to become worse and affect the person every time anything at all is eaten. It eats away at the victim's esophgas and requires treatment as soon as possible. The treatment is a medication the doctor prescribes. Now that is the worst case senario. Other causes of heartburn when you drink orange juice should be noticed when you drink coffee or eat a tomato or drink tomato juice or grapefruit juice or anything that is acidic. Usually the reason for the heartburn is that the person who has consumed the acidic food has a stomach that is overly acidic, so that adding more acid makes it worse. That is often the case with people who have what is known as a nervous stomach also (queezy when you eat acidic or sometimes any foods, even to the point of causing cramping or vomiting). If you experiencing a stoutness of weight you might wish to see a doctor for check up and probably a prescription for acid relux-an ailment you MUST see the physician for because it does not go and only gets worse. Untreated it eats a hole in the esophgas, but if it is a nervous stomach that you have, you still may want to see the doctor because there are prescriptions to settle that down as well. Now if the problem is just being a little over acidic I would be sure never to drink the juice you love, be it orange, grapefruit, tomato, until after you have eaten a full meal. If you cannot stand the thought of a full meal at least first try like an ala cart portion then of food before you drink a glass of the offending juice. If those attempts fail, then it is time to take an antacid before the meal or partial meal and then try the juice. Those efforts will probably stop your heartburn without ending your romance with oj or coffee, or whatever upsets your system. I hope that helps you and that you can drink the sun products again without distress. Happy days.

Heartburn is a condition where the valve between your stomach & esophagus (called The Cardiac valve") doesn't close properly, allowing stomach acid to back-up into your esopahgus, 90% of people get it. It's annoying.. Use over the counter stuff or Chamomile Tea

Yes, I do. I have asked my Dr. about this since I also get it if I eat oranges, bananas & some other acidic fruits.
I was told I am allergic to the acid in the fruits, in order to keep this from happening, I have to stop eating them. It is hard since oranges are my favorite.
If this is happening to you, I would have it checked out. It could be a number of different reasons as to why.
