http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/pregnancy/pregcomplications/830.html says :
It depends on how far along you are in pregnancy. Don't panic if your second trimester ultrasound shows that you have placenta previa. As your pregnancy progresses, your placenta is likely to "migrate" farther from your cervix and no longer be a problem. (Since the placenta is implanted in the uterus, it doesn't actually move, but it can end up farther from your cervix as your uterus expands. Also, as the placenta itself grows, it's likely to grow toward the richer blood supply in the upper part of the uterus.)
Only about 10 percent of women who have placenta previa noted on ultrasound at midpregnancy still have it when they deliver their baby. A placenta that completely covers the cervix is more likely to stay that way than one that's bordering it (marginal) or nearby (low-lying).
Even if previa is discovered later in pregnancy, the placenta may still move away from the cervix (although the later it's found, the less likely this is to happen). You'll have a follow-up ultrasound early in your third trimester to check on the location of your placenta. If you have any vaginal bleeding in the meantime, an ultrasound will be done then to find out what's going on.
I was diagnosed with Placenta Previa early in my pregnancy with my first child. I was told by my OB/GYN that it still could "move" and "fix" itself. He had me on semi-bed rest. My placenta did "move" farther away from my cervix and my Placenta Previa diagnosis was removed.
How far along are you? What has your OB/GYN said? If you are in the latter part of your pregnancy, your OB/GYN should have you on complete bed rest, to lessen the likelyhood of bleeding and an early delivery.
Best to you. I hope that your placenta "moves" away from your cervix and that you have an easy labor and delivery.

hey. Placenta previa is when the placenta grows really low in fron of the baby, there is a high chance that you will bleed sometime through your pregnancy so doctors recommend that after 20weeks you refrain from exercise and take it easy. If you do bleed go straight to the hospital so they can monitor the bleeding, if it is heavy bleeding then you might have to stay in hospital until the baby is born.
There is no real chance that the placenta will move and there is also no chance that youll be able to have your baby vaginally incase of hemmorage through labour and also the cord wrapping around the babies neck. Any good doctor would schedule you for a cesearean. hope that helps! Goodluck, hope all goes well!

The chances of it correcting depend on how far along your are and the limitations your doctor has placed on you. I was discovered to have it during my second pregnancy at about 6 months along. My doctor put me on bedrest right away for 30 days, and it had corrected itself by that time. I delivered my baby vaginally and had no problems whatsoever. My baby and I were both perfectly healthy!
I know that bedrest may drive you crazy but it is for your health and the baby's safety. I was in the Navy and lived on base, so if anybody saw me anywhere I could have got in trouble and that was what gave me the extra will necessary to stay still in home. Of course that was because I really did not understand the severity that placenta previa could present! It is somewhat of a normal occurrance but can be very dangerous.
Please take care. Listen to your doctor. If they haven't placed you on bedrest, you may want to consider another doc!

Your Doctor should have you on bed rest 1st of all. Lying down! Do you know how serious this can be? Chances are very good that without bed rest it NOT correct itself , if not you will have a c-section in most cases. If your Dr. didn't put you on bed rest you may have a low lying placenta, which is not pp. Watch for silent bleeds (how could you miss them) and if that happens seek medical attention immediately your baby/your life may be at risk! Please if you are supposed to be on bed rest for a physical condition follow your doctors orders!

My husband's niece had this and she had to have a c-section. C-sections are not as bad as people make them out to be. I was back to work after 4 weeks on light duty.
