Manuka Honey is a honey that is collected and usually used for its medicinal properties. It is anti inflammatory and a great fighter against infections and is anti bacterial. Sometimes I have know it to be used for colds to coat the throat to ease soreness, but also as a 'barrier' on the skin to assist with healing of the tissue. It has also been used to lessen chances of scarring of the the skin after operations.

I have two thoughts, one, it is like bush honey, extracted from bees that have collected the pollen from the Manuka tree/flower or that is simply produced in the Canberra (Australia) suburb but I am pretty certain it is my first thought. Maybe try googling just to be sure :o)
