although they are good, they are definitely not the best ever.

I believe that the answerers above me are wrong, though this is just opinion. Halo and Halo 2 are the best games ever because their online play is unmatched and the gameplay never gets boring. My friends and I cannot stop playing Halo 2, and we've all had it since it was released.

I think they are OK games at best. I can name about 52 games in one hour that are better.
Here are some to start
Battlefield2
Resident evil 4
Star wars KOTOR2
Galactic Civilizations 2
Sims2 or perhaps the Sims1.
Command and conquer the first decade
Star wars battlefront 2.
Darkcloud2
Almost any final fantasy or armord core game.
Quake 3 area.
Starcraft
Warcraft
and most of the zelda games.
the list goes on that's about 5% of the overall list I could comeup with given the time.
