I'm going as a french maid.....and I'm a fairly muscled 6'4 guy. As a girl, you might try something off the wall too. It depends on what you want. If you want sexy, then any of the classics will do: sexy pirate, sexy nurse, sexy witch, etc. If you want daring, go as the president (now that's scary), or maybe as a muslim woman with a burkha and everything. I think you can get away with anything during halloween- it just depends on what boundaries you want to push.

If you're making something yourself, how about Tomb Raider or an accident victim (lots of blood all over yourself, maybe some branches and leaves in your hair).
One year I went as a Renaissance maiden who was bitten by a vampire and morphed into a vampire over the course of the night.

Go as Constantine out of the movie as a demon destroyer so cool or a vampire they tend to scare the most or just put a pumpkin on your head ha ha,
