It depends on you and how price is a factor and the features offered. Most likely the Zire 72 will be cheaper in price.

Both devices are 312mhz but different processors.

The TX has a newer Palm OS 5.4 vs 5.2.8 for Zire 72.

TX has Wi-Fi built-in. Zire 72 does not.

TX has a bigger screen 320x480 vs 320x320 for the Zire 72.

Zire 72 has a built-in camera. TX does not.

TX uses the newer multi-connector that other current Palms use and the Zire 72 uses the mini-USB connector which not many Palms use.

Most people would choose the TX, but you have to make your own decision.

The Zire 72 is an older Palm model, while the Tungsten T/X is much newer and offers better quality and updated features. While the Zire 72 offers only Bluetooth, the Tungsten T/X offers WiFi and Bluetooth, SD card slot for expansion, and gorgeous large screen.

If you don't care much for WiFi for Internet connectivity, I would consider the Zire 72. If you do want WiFi and Bluetooth, I definitely recommend the Tunsten T/X.

If you have the money, Palm TX is better, SDIO camera can be added to it. It would be better than Zire 72 on all fronts.
