Most Christians believe the Mayan religion/culture was devil-worship.
The world is not going to end on that date. The Mayan calendar isn't even going to end on that date. What IS ending is the 12 Baktun of the Mayan Long Count. It's similar to our calendar going from 1999 to 2000 except a Baktun is 396 years long.

I accept as true with Aussie Witch approximately it being as lots a initiating as an ending, and a dimensional shift... in spite of if, I do have self belief that it is going to be observed by using many dramatic variations, the two organic and cultural, and that those variations have the flair to make our contemporary lifestyle so diverse as to be unrecognizable. I even have self belief that it is extremely probably that there will be some style of pole shift, bodily, that's probably to set off the Yellow stone great-volcano. in spite of if, I do have self belief that the international information has the potential for transmuting danger to such an volume, that the actual pole shift would be purely psychological, and we can then be ushered into an age of great-technological expertise... yet which ever way it occurs, in spite of if we are ushered into yet another stone age by using actual mess ups, or into an age of international sup-technological expertise, i think we, and the earth may be the extra perfect for it.

It is said that it is the end of a period of time AS WE KNOW IT. That means that things may change...drastically. This kind of question in most cases causes grounds for many debates. What is fun about living in these times is that we will actually see Dec. 21, 2012 in six years, two months, and thirteen days! And then there will be no more burden of proof either way.

Well I was wondering where people got the idea that
religious people are psychologically challenged, now I
know.Which I'm not religious, I am a Christian. If you read
your Bible you will find, But of that day and hour knoweth no
man, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matthew
24:36. Don't take it on my word, read it for yourself. The
Holy Bible King James Version.

The mayan calendar is actually extended from our own, meaning they use true planetary alignments while we use the sunlight. The world will not end.

Christ indeed will return, but no one knows the hour or the day except our Father who is in heaven, That's why we should be prepared at any hour.

And I don't get Tomiyo's reasoning. Paradox?, what paradox? Try a bit of logic, dear.
