I haven't heard that one before.
But people associate pretty much everything with the end of the world. Other than New Testament teachings and the Mayan belief that the world is ending in 2012 or so (I forgot the exact date), I've never read anywhere about the end of the world being an issue to anyone in history.

any number of reasons:
stupidity comes to mind
end of certain foliage, flora and/or fauna
end of a lunar cycle
end of a fiscal cycle
end of an astronomical cycle
end of the Aztec calendar stone [winter solstice, 2012]
end of the salt...oooooooops ,that's changing "seasonings"
misunderstanding of the words-if they know them at all-
"perousia" and "escatological" event

truthfully i think its becouse if you hold up your hands the world is changing about you !
and in most cases is melenium related !
seasons is groth or harvest or something not catyclysm!

i'll tell you why, because our Lord Jesus Christ came to earth for us to die on the cross for our sin. if you read your Bible you will see that it says there that Jesus is coming back and that seasons will change, He is coming back, but be assured that there is still time left, not alot, for you to decide if you believe in Him and want to follow Him in His steps, Because God is a loving God and wants each and every one of us to believe in Him and want to Follow Him thats why He sent His Son to earth to die for our sin, He is coming back tocome and collect His people that believed in Him, i hope i made you understand because time is short and i hope to see you all one day in the presence of our Loving GOD
