A bit of both. There are only 8 counties in CT, so you can find lots of variety in any one county. Fairfield County tends to be very affluent, with some of the richest towns in the country. The richest towns to tend to be snobby and pretentious, but they also tend to be very beautiful, and they tend to have excellent school systems. On the flip side, though, my aunt and uncle live on a farm in Fairfield County, and they are quite the opposite of snobby and pretentious.

Personally, I would stay out of Fairfield county, just because of the cost of living.

People think Connecticut is part of New England because it IS part of New England. It is considered the southwestern most state that makes up New England, and no I don't think Fairfield County should merge with Westchester.

Very, very snobby. My dad went back there to his HS reunion and the people were rude and had a snobby attitude.
