That is really hard to do. I get them every summer . One of the places they love is the trash can and the other place is a wet dish rag or scrubby sponge. They love dampness so don,t let these items lay around to become a larger breeding ground . I spray the trash can and the kitchen and bath areas with fly spray every couple of days just to keep them under control and then once winter sets in it seems like they finally disappear. be patient and watch out for the safety of pets when using insecticides.

Here's a VERY effective and non-toxic solution that has worked for my family over the years:

Step 1: Yep - throw out the old fruit or the onion / potato under your sink that you forgot about.

Step 2: Take several cerial-sized bowls and fill them 1/3 full of warm water. Add 1 Tbsp of sugar and 4 Tbsp of Apple Cider vinegar in each. Stir. Then add 2 drops of liquid dish detergent. Place the bowls around your kitchen and near areas where you see concentrations of fruit flies. (Near houseplants, too.) After one day you will see a big difference. Two-three days and you should be clear!

The sugar and especially the apple cider release an odor that is VERY attractive to fruit flies. The liquid dish detergent is a surfactant that eliminates the normal water tension that exists in standing tap water. In layman's terms, the fruit flies will settle in for a drink and find themselves immediately at the bottom of the bowl.

I was amazed the first time I did this routine and have been passing it along for years. It is extremely effective and eliminates the use of any toxic chemicals. (Not that I'm against Raid - I just don't want it on my kitchen counter.)

Good luck!

They breed and adapt to insecticides exceedingly with out postpone so which you ought to land up only chasing your tail so which you ought to speak. i understand you mentioned the home is sparkling, yet double examine some issues. they like something candy not purely fruit. So verify each and every thing is wiped down, no choc. syrup or the different sugary substance out or spilled everywhere. floor mopped trash emptied. rubbish disposal sparkling. inspite of each and every thing that try this. conceal the kitchen drain with plastic wrap so it is not an selection for them and seize them someplace else. Take a huge glass and placed some apple cider vinegar in the backside then make a funnel out of paper to place interior the glass verify there's a small hollow on the backside of the cone(funnel) and then tape around the suited so it makes a seal The flies would be somewhat drawn to the vinegar and unable to get out using cone. they simply are not that clever i assume yet this works. stable success they are such pains.

Don't let your fruit ripen so much. Put it away in between.
