If the makeup is causing skin irritation, then it may help.
However, it sounds like you are using makeup to cover skin blemishes. Stridex pads typically clean the dirt out from the pores and wash away the oil build-up. A little bit of sun may help eliminate the blemishes also.
Consider seeing a dermatologist too.

I have struggled with acne my whole life so I can answer this one...
I say to stop using the foundation for a week... But only to see whether the fondation is CAUSING the breakouts...Like if you were having an allergic reaction to it.
You can wear makeup and still have clear skin...The makeup doesn't cause the break outs, it's the bacteria.
Even if you wear no makeup, you will likely still break out so you need to take care of the acne itself.
Go to a dernatologist...Or at the very least use an over the counter product with 5% Benzol Peroxide such as Klear Action which you can buy at any drugstore. I have used it with great results.
And change your pillow cases OFTEN. Believe it or not, thats a big factor in getting acne because the oild from your face are stewing there for 8 hours a night.
When it comes to makeup, choose OIL FREE foundations and moisturizers. Make sure to wash your makeup off EVERY NIGHT too.
Good luck!

I'm a guy and I can say whenever you put powder or anything on your skin, it can potentially clog your pores causing pimples. Best thing to do would be to wash your face every night with warm water to open your pores and get the makeup off, then when you're done scrubbing, splash some cold water on your face. I don't wear makeup, but I worked outside when I was in high school, and the dirt and sweat and skin oil does the same thing, except it didn't look as good.

I have the same problem, i used to suffer quite bad from acne but its calmed down alot now. Try using a stick concealer that's especially for skin with spots, i have some thats made by rimmel, use this instead of putting foundation on so the areas of your skin that doesn't have spots won't be affected. Also drink plenty of water, that's what my doctor told me and try to eat more things like fruit and veg so your skin can get the right nutrients it needs to fight the bacteria that causes the acne. I've found that exercise helps to. Hope all this is useful for you

no, your skin wont clear up... its not about the makeup because most makeup is dermotolgist tested and hypoallergetic and does not cause acne. Acne comes from the inside. The best thing to do is to wash your face atleast twice a day and use a toner and a lotion.

It would be a quik fix but not something that would last, as soon as you go back to wearing make-up everyday, they would come back. Get a genlte cleanser and clean with very warm water every night and try, I use Clerasil advanced(the stuff that is supposed to have them gone in 3 days). Make sure you use a moisturizer also though. In the morning when you get up wash your face again before you put our make up on and try a tinted moisturizer instead of actual foundation, it is lighter. Or buy a foundation that says it is non-cleminagenic. That means that it will not clog pores.

i wash my face twice a day....then every two of three days i use a maque on it...one is for cleaning impurities out of you skin...and there is this green masque that is suppose to clear up all signs and things of acne...i do not have acne either, just a occasional blemish...then i use morning face cream and night cream on my face...my face does look younger than my years...but i do work at this...i also do not use much makeup at all...mainly eye makeup unless i have a date where i want to try to look more dressy...i do not do this often at all...i lke the foaming face cleansers best....but i also have oil of olay face wash....so try some of these and see how it does your face...i really think the masque are important to use at least twice a week...

It may be that your face needs a break. It could also be that the skin care you're using isn't the right one for your skin. Different people have different needs for their skin. My opinion: Try going without makeup, if that doesn't make a difference, try another skin care system. I don't know what you use now, but sometimes you need a different one.
