I wonder why it is that we ask stuipd questions and get 40 answers and ask serious questions and get 2 or 3 answers? Does that mean that people are too stupid to answer real questions or just on here to screw around?

Well, for me, I love to answer with in depth and researched answers, IF I have the time, but sometimes it's fun to see what crazy and zany questions there are to answer, perhaps to release a little energy? :) So, I say both! :)

Because people seem to ask more stupid questions than they do serious intelligent questions.
When I goto the Yahoo! Answers main page I normally see maybe 3 serious questions listed. I don't sit on this site for hours at a time, and don't even come here that often (probably because I have a life), and so I don't usually search through all the questions looking for serious ones so that I can earn stupid points. If I see a question that I want to answer, I answer it, whether its a stupid question or not.

Alot of people here are just here to screw around. Some people actually answer serious questions with their whole selves, heart and mind. On nights like tonight, I'm just wasting time, so yeah I go for the silly questions or easy categories! Not everyone here is stupid, lots just take it more seriously than others! :)

I think the bad questions distract people from answering legitimate questions. I know that I waste a lot of time sending snippy answers to people who just instigate on here instead of answering things that I know about... I eventually get around to them, but not as soon as I'd like.

I'm just here largely to entertain myself. I usually toss stupid answers to stupid questions off the top of my head.
Surprisingly, that's how I've gotten most of my 'Best Answer' awards.

You hit the nails on the head. Real answers require intelligence, knowledge, thought, or (at the very least) research. Screwing around is way easier.

I try to answer the intelligent/serious questions, but sometimes I'll come upon one that makes me go "Oh... well... d amn..." either because it makes me think, or because I just don't know how to answer the question. I don't wanna waste their time by simply putting "Good question, makes me think" or something stupid like that, unless I have someway to answer the question itself.

I answer loads and loads of serious questions.I find long lost dads/sisters/cousins/ long lost budgies!! lol It for me is some light relief from all the depressing questions.
