My hamster just had babies about three weeks ago, she has been a really good mommy and all the babies are grown up now but I am worried because like she is always chewing on the bars of the cage and like I think she is getting smaller and I am afraid that like she isn't eating or drinking, I just gave her more food and she has nothing to do with it she just wants to try and get me? like I am worried she is gonna hurt herself cuz she falls from the bars and her foot gets stuck but like I was thinking that maybe she is just trying to keep her babies safe and trying to get to me and like I thought that maybe when I left she would start eating. Am I right? I am really concerned that she isn't eating or drinking because she is trying to keep her babies safe, Please help
Thank you.

r the babies 3 wks old then? u must separate them by sex by 4 weeks or u will have more babies and then they must all have separate cages at 3 months or they will fight & kill each other. the more babies a hamster has and the younger she is when it happens the shorter her lifespan and the more likely she'll have health problems.

if she's not eating she's sick in some way & needs a vet. r u providing enough food for all of them? make sure the container says at least 15% protein. buy her some hamster vitamins that u put in her water. u can feed her with an eyedropper to make sure she eats. handfeed her some carrot or broccoli every couple days.

she is chewing on her bars because she wants out. get a hamster ball & use tape on the lid because they pop open. let her run til she stops---make sure u r around cuz as i said the lid can pop open---just listen for her. then put her back and if shes had enough she wont chew again--if she wants more she'll start back--then u can just let her run some more. my girl runs for about 2-3 hrs with hourly water/food breaks. i know when shes had enough because she doesnt chew and goes to bed. they r used to running in the wild for 5-6 miles and they want this freedom. this is safe freedom. get her a ball---$5 at petstore or even walmart. the best ones have screws in them---mines from meijer. she'll then only chew to let u know she's ready to get out.

bar chewing can cause brain damage & misaligned teeth when excessive so why not use this easy fix?

I had 2 hamster, 1 died of old age and the other 1 died of a diese it was born of. You should go see a vet and maybe you should try buying her some treats so that she will eat those. If that does not work put her in a different cage so that she will eat.

Try a sheet over the cage it cuts down on the outside distractions... Measure the amount of food you give her then re measure it at night. See if it MUCH less.. Keep in mind they store food.. Same for the H2O... (water)
