dating on the internet, no way. exchange of messages is all there is. getting honesty and reality is possible but not common. dating someone met through the internet is possible and can lead to a ltr. I know a few couples that started online. Have quite intimate conversations with people that I consider to be friends. dating from the internet is a yes.
