My boyfriend has left me, I am 36 weeks pregnant. He left me for a drug and alcohol addiction and because he wants to party instead of grow up. I hurt very bad right now. He has made me feel defective like my love isn't any good and like nobody will want me. Is this normal? I don't even like to think about sex because it makes me sick.

Most women feel defective and hurt after a break up. But, you should feel lucky honey. You don't want to be in a relationship with an addict. You will be better off without him as will your child. That is something your child does not need to be subjected to. Tend to your needs. It is hard sometimes, especially when you are pregnant and a little more emotional than usual. Talk to your friends and family. I am sure they will be more than willing to lend an ear and/or help you out. In time, you will find someone that truly deserves to be around you and your child. This addict doesn't deserve that! Remind yourself as often as you can of that fact! You deserve better! So does your child!

Let's recap: A guy who is addicted to partying, i.e., being irresponsible, has left your life and YOU feel defective?

I don't mean to sound glib but honey, that could be the best thing that ever happened to you, and you can't see it right now.

If this happened to your best friend, what would you tell her?

You and that baby will be JUST FINE. In fact, probably much better off without him. Cripe, I can only imagine the nightmares if he had stayed. Please count your blessings and try to see the bright side. Honey, you are worth more than gold. And you'll see that soon enough. Chin up....
